Installing DoubleClick For Publishers

BuySellAds connects directly to your DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) account, opening up your available ad inventory to the thousands of self-service advertisers and media agencies who buy with us. It’s effortless and takes less than 30 minutes to get set up.

Preparing DFP To Connect To BuySellAds

Before connecting your BuySellAds account to DoubleClick for Publishers, we need to ensure that DFP is prepared to accept communications with BuySellAds via the DFP API. It’s pretty quick to set up, so just follow the steps below and you’ll be up and running in no time.

Here are the steps required for enabling the DFP API in your account:

  1. Log Into Your DFP Account.

    Log In To Google DoubleClick For Publishers
  2. Click The Admin Link In The Main Navigation Bar.

  3. Click The API Access Toggle.

  4. Wait For The API Terms And Conditions Modal To Appear.

  5. Click Accept.

  6. If A Green Check Mark Appears, You’re Done.

    API Access EnabledA green check mark should now appear in the API Access toggle icon. If it’s green, you’re clear to move on to the next section of this guide.

Connecting BuySellAds To DFP

Now that you have enabled the DFP API, we can begin connecting your BuySellAds account to your DFP account. By marrying your two accounts, you’ll be able to begin configuring your ad inventory to take advantage of our DFP offerings.

Below is a list of the steps needed for connecting BuySellAds to DFP:

  1. Log In to Your BuySellAds Account.

  2. Navigate To Your Inventory Page.

    Select Inventory From Menu
  3. Click Settings For The Property You Would Like To Configure.

  4. Scroll To The Ad Server Connection Section. Select DFP (DoubleClick For Publishers) From The Dropdown Menu.

  5. Click The Button ‘Connect With DoubleClick For Publishers (DFP)’.

  6. Give Google Access To Your DFP Account. Note: If successful, the status will be changed to DFP is already connected.

  7. After Being Re-Directed Back To BuySellAds, Select Your DFP Network.

  8. Click The Save Button.

Setting Up Your Ad Inventory

We’re connected, mostly. Now that you have enabled the DFP API, and connected BuySellAds to your DFP account, we can now focus on configuring your ad inventory and connecting each ad spot to your DFP account.

To start connecting your individual ad spots to your DFP spots, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log In to Your BuySellAds Account.

  2. Navigate To Your Inventory Page.

    Select Inventory From Menu
  3. Create BuySellAds Units For Your Site By Clicking Add Inventory.

    add inventoryIf you’re starting fresh, you’ll need to set up your ad zones before continuing through this guide. Start by clicking the Add Inventory button, and filling out the information in the form.
  4. Edit The Ad Zone You Wish To Tie To DFP. Click The Gear Icon, Then Settings.

    Edit The Ad Zone On a zone-by-zone basis, you’ll have to tie each ad zone to the appropriate DFP zone.
  5. Connect The BuySellAds Unit That You Created With Its Corresponding Unit In DFP.

    Connect BuySellAds And DFP UnitsThis pull-down menu will populate with the titles that exist in your DFP account. Marry the BuySellAds unit to an appropriate DFP Zone. If you are creating or adjusting a 300×250 unit in your BSA account, you’ll want to select a 300×250 DFP unit or placement in the drop-down menu.
  6. Save.
