Marketplace Geo Targeting
Yes, BuySellAds allows publishers to sell ad zones with geo targeting to select countries. This technique works well for sites with a large amount of traffic, and a significant enough audience in certain countries that advertisers would benefit from such targeted exposure.
Before you can set up geo targeting for your web property, you must first allow BuySellAds to connect to your Google Analytics account. This has two benefits – 1) it displays your traffic information on your marketplace listing 2) it enables BuySellAds to estimate how many impressions can be delivered to each country.
Please read and complete the steps in this help article to set up Google Analytics.
Login to your account and go to Publishers » Dashboard by hovering your email address in the top-right corner. Then click on the “Actions” button for your zone and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
Go to the Advanced Targeting tab. Check the box next to Enable Geo Buying. New options will appear.
Enter an additional CPM for each of the geos that you would like to offer. Any field that you leave blank will not be displayed in your marketplace listing.
When you are done, click the green Save Zone button.
If you navigate to your marketplace listing, you will see that the zones for which you set up geo targeting now have a special, red callout text that indicates this option for advertisers. You can read about how advertisers purchase geo targeted zones here.
My Google Analytics account is connected, although the geographical data is not displaying on my ad page.
There are two possible solutions for this issue that usually resolve the problem:
- You can use the “force a refresh” link in the RSS / Twitter stats section on your “Property Settings” page to force our system to refresh all stats for you. After doing this, your geographical data should display.
- Please ensure that the correct Google Analytics account is connected in “Property Settings” for that particular website.
