Ad Management

Last Updated on January 25, 2018

Are things going so great with your campaign that you want to expedite its delivery on a publication? Or, maybe you just want to figure out how to A/B test some of the creative you’ve been running. This section is for you, and it’s built to answer all of those ad management questions you’ve been thinking about.

Can I change my ad creative in the middle of my campaign?

You sure can. You can login to your account and change your ad(s) at any time. Just go to Advertisers > Campaigns and click on the pencil icon that appears when you hover over the name of the website for the ad you want to edit. After your new creative is submitted, the publisher will have 24 hours to approve it.

In addition to changing a current creative, you can also test multiple creatives in the same spot by using our A/B testing feature.

To use A/B testing, just go to Advertisers > Campaigns and click on the name of the website for the ad you want to edit. On that page you will scroll down and click on the Add Alternate button to add one or more creatives to rotate in that space. (Note: This button will only appear after the first creative is approved.) Each creative can have its own URL and Alt text.

Can I accelerate my ad so it serves faster than 30 days?

We are not able to accelerate the 30-day, fixed-price ads. Although some CPM ads can be accelerated. If this option is available for your ad, you will see a link called “Accelerate Impressions” on the ad detail page in your account. Clicking on this will allow you to select a new end date so that our system can attempt to accelerate the impressions for you. If you do not see this link on the ad detail page, it means that the ad cannot be accelerated.

Please keep in mind that we are not able to guarantee that all impressions will be served in the time you requested, but our system will attempt to display as many of your impressions as possible during the new time frame.

How can I buy geo targeted ads?

Some of our publishers offer geo targeting. If a publisher offers geo targeting, you will see a red “Advanced Targeting Available” tag below the ad title. To purchase, you will use the “Buy Now” button to add to your cart. When you go to your cart to upload the banner and link, you will see an “Add Targeting” link below the title of the ad. Just click on this to select targeting for the ad.

Can I pause my ad campaign and then start it up again at a later date?

When you purchase an ad, the ad is served only for that specific 30-day period and cannot be paused.

If there is a reason why you need to stop a specific ad from running for a week or so, you can upload an alternate ad with a different destination link in its place. After you have uploaded the temporary alternate ad, you can then pause your original ad.

When you are ready for the original ad to run again, you will just pause the temporary ad and unpause the original ad in your account so it will run for the remainder of the 30-day cycle.

You can login to your account and change the URL of your link at any time. Just go to “Campaigns”, and then click on the “Edit Creative” pencil icon next to the ad you want to edit. (This icon will appear when you hover over the name of the ad in your dashboard.) You will see a “Link” field on that page to edit the link.

After your change is submitted, the publisher will have 24 hours to approve it before the change goes live.

Can I reserve or schedule an ad for a campaign that I will be launching soon?

A 30-day, fixed-price ad will go live within 24 hours of payment, and those types of ads cannot be scheduled in advance.

Although CPM ads ($X per 1k imps) can be scheduled in advance. When you are on the “Upload Creative” page during the purchase of a CPM ad, you will see a “Schedule this Ad” option just above the “Save” button. Just click on this to schedule the ad.

How do I stop an alternate ad from displaying?

After an alternate creative is approved by the publisher, you can go to the ad page in your account and you will see a pause icon when you hover over the alternate ad. Clicking on this will pause that specific creative and it will no longer display.

Are ads in your network follow or nofollow?

We add ‘nofollow’ to our ad tags.

Can you approve my creative for the Publisher?

The publisher has 24 hours to approve or deny your creative. The publisher is given this time to review your creative since they can be selective about what they will allow. If the publisher does not approve or deny your creative within 24 hours, the it will be up to us to approve it for them at that time.

Can I add more impressions to my CPM campaign?

If you’d like to add more impressions to your campaign or reduce the amount of impressions for future renewals, you will just use the “Change Impressions” link on the ad detail page in your account.

Why is an inactive ad appearing in the “Live” view in my dashboard?

If the ad was active in the past 30 days, we leave it in the dashboard view. We keep all ads that were active in that time period showing so you can see them all.

How can I get on a waiting list for an ad that is sold out?

If you see a zone that you are interested in, but it is sold out, just click on the “Waiting List” button, and you will be emailed when that spot becomes available.

Can I set daily limits for impressions serving?

We do not have the option to set daily impression limits. Although when you purchase an ad, you will only pay for a specific amount of impressions upfront, and you will be served that amount and no more during the ad cycle. Our system attempts to spread these out evenly over 30 days by default, so you will usually receive a similar amount of impressions each day.

Do you offer conversion tracking with your ads?

We do not offer conversion tracking with our service at this time.

What is the ‘Tags’ column in the dashboard for?

This is a way for you to enter identifying tags for the ads in your campaigns. This does not affect the performance of your campaign, but allows you to identify those ads easily in your account.

To enter a new tag, just click on the tag icon next to the ad name.

Do you allow 3rd party ad tags for advertiser’s ads?

At this time, we do not allow advertisers to supply 3rd party ad tags for their ads. Part of the value-add we provide publishers is the ability to approve ads before they go live. With 3rd party ad tags, publishers lose this control.

Our system does not allow the insertion of HTML or Javascript for our ads. If you are trying to use an affiliate ad, and if you are able to extract the link URL only from that link code and can download the specific ad image to your computer, then you can use it that way. Although not all affiliate links can work like this, so you will want to check with the affiliate company to be sure.

For example, you would need to extract the affiliate link from the chunk of affiliate code. The link URL may look something like this: “http://www.website.com/affiliateID4567” You will need to copy and paste that link into our ‘LINK’ field for your ad creative. Then you need to download the ad image that you want to use to your computer and then use the “Browse” button to locate in on your computer and upload it to the “Image” field.

I keep getting an error when I try to upload my ad image.

Here are some reasons why this might be happening:

  • Our system does not allow hosted image URL’s for the ad creative. You must upload your ad image using the Browse button and then select the ad image from your computer to upload.
  • You may be trying to upload a format that is not allowed, or you may be trying to upload a size that is not the exact size of the ad you are purchasing. At this time, we only the following formats to be uploaded for your ad image: JPG, PNG and GIF.

If you are still having issues uploading your creative, please submit a support ticket and we will be happy to help.

What is the maximum file size that can be uploaded for an ad?

We have specific upload limits depending on the amount of pixels contained in the ad. Smaller ads have smaller limits and larger ads allow for larger file size limits. The limits are:

  • Up to 75kb file size for ads containing under 50,000 pixels
  • Up to 150kb file size for ads containing under 100,000 pixels
  • Up to 300kb file size for ads containing more than 100,000 pixels

Example: An ad that is 125×125 contains 15,625 total pixels (125 x 125 = 15,625), so this would mean that the file size of this ad should remain under 75kb.

The ability to add alternate creatives will only appear in your account after your initial ad purchase has been approved by the publisher and appears in your account under “Campaigns”.

Once your ad is approved, just go to “Campaigns” and click on the name of the website for the ad you want to edit. On that page you will scroll below the graph to the “Add Alternate” button to add one or more creatives to rotate in that space. Each creative can have its own URL and Alt text, and those creatives will rotate in the spot that you paid for.

Buying Geo Targeted Inventory

You will just click on “Media Plans” in the left navigation of your Advertiser Dashboard. This will display and ads you’ve added to your waiting list and wish list.
