Creating A New Ad Template

Self-Serve Direct integrates with DoubleClick for Publishers. Ad Templates can be built in DFP and then sold through Self-Serve Direct. The steps below walk you through the process of creating new ad templates, configuring BuySellAds to sync those templates, and then set proper constraints for your templates.

Create Template In DoubleClick for Publishers

  1. In DFP click Delivery from the top nav.
  2. The Creatives in the left nav, followed by Creative Templates
  3. Click the New creative template button
  4. Give the template a name
  5. Uncheck the ‘Serve into a SafeFrame’ checkbox. (important)
  6. Enter a description for your ad template
  7. Create your variables
  8. In the define snippet box, code your custom ad template using the appropriate variables, CSS, and HTML where necessary.
  9. Click Save

Configure In BuySellAds

  1. Log in to BuySellAds
  2. Click Your Username (Top-Right)
  3. From within the drop down menu, select Ad Serving Templates
  4. Click the ‘Create New’ button
  5. From the Select YourAd Server Drop Down menu, select DoubleClick for Publishers
  6. From the “Select an existing creative template’ drop down menu, select your new custom ad serving template
  7. that you just created in DFP.
  8. The BuySellAds dashboard will sync the information from DFP automatically
  9. Click ‘Save Template’

Set Constraints For Your Ad Template

  1. Log in to BuySellAds
  2. Click Your Username (Top-Right)
  3. From within the drop down menu, select Ad Serving Templates
  4. Click the ‘Edit’ button for the template you want to configure
  5. In the actions column, click the gear icon, then the edit link
  6. For the images in your ad template, you must configure the width, height, max file size, and file types.
  7. Click Save Field
